About the Event
Alan Pedersen has spent more than 21 years sharing a message of hope for all who grieve through his original music and inspirational speaking engagements. An award-winning singer and songwriter, Alan’s career changed dramatically after his 18-yearold daughter Ashley died in a car accident in 2001.
After being helped by attending his local chapter of The Compassionate Friends in Littleton, Colorado, Alan made the career choice to dedicate his life to using his music and message to help others navigating the grief journey. In 2003, Alan recorded his first of 4 CD’s of original songs reflecting his walk through grief. His music reflects the pain but also the love and hope that grievers experience. He has traveled to more than 1,600 cities across the USA and Canada performing and presenting workshops.
In 2011, Alan became a certified Grief Services Provider through the American Grief Academy. Since that time he has written and collaborated on many internationally recognized educational and inspirational grief programs including the video series Walking Through Grief which was produced in partnership with The Grief Toolbox. From 2013-2017 Alan served as the Executive Director of The Compassionate Friends USA, the largest peer-to-peer grief organization in the world. Alan currently serves as the Ambassador and is also a frequent guest and host of television programs for the Open to Hope organization.
